Poole Fire Protection provides attorneys with highly experienced, licensed fire protection engineers who deliver clear, defensible expert analysis grounded in real-world system performance. Our experts evaluate both active and passive fire protection systems to identify failure mechanisms, code compliance issues, and potential subrogation opportunities following fire and life safety incidents. They are licensed in all 50 states, Guam and Washington, DC.
Led by principals Jack Poole, PE, FSFPE, and Drew Poole, PE, our firm combines decades of hands-on engineering practice with deep technical expertise in fire science, fire suppression and alarm systems, and building and life safety codes. Unlike firms that rely solely on post-incident review, our engineers have designed, evaluated, tested, and inspected the same systems they analyze bringing practical, field-tested insight that strengthens both investigations and testimony.
Jack and Drew are actively involved in the building and fire code development process and have served on National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) technical committees responsible for drafting and maintaining fire protection and life safety standards. This direct participation provides first-hand knowledge of code intent, technical substantiation, and the consensus process behind the requirements. This insight is particularly valuable when addressing code interpretation, applicability, and historical intent in litigation.
Early engagement of Poole Fire Protection as part of the investigation team provides measurable advantages. Involvement immediately following an incident allows our experts to help preserve critical system data, document as-found conditions, evaluate system performance before alteration, and coordinate evidence handling in a manner that supports later forensic analysis and litigation. This proactive approach often clarifies causation issues early, reduces downstream disputes, and improves the overall quality and defensibility of expert opinions.
Our engineers routinely support counsel with investigations, comparative research, consulting, trial preparation, and expert testimony. They are experienced in translating complex engineering concepts into clear, persuasive explanations for attorneys, judges, and juries without sacrificing technical rigor.
Poole Fire Protection is nationally recognized for fire protection and life safety litigation support, with repeat engagements from law firms who value our responsiveness, technical depth, and credibility. The ongoing participation of our staff on NFPA technical committees and standards development ensures opinions are informed by both current requirements and the practical realities of how fire protection systems are designed, installed, and maintained.
